Wincanton is now a “very different organisation” to what it was a few years ago, as the company increased turnover, more-than doubled pre-tax and continued to reduce its net debt in financial year 2013. Average turnover for the Motor Transport Top 100 rose by 4.3% year-on-year, and pre-tax profit rose 29.6% in the same period, as the largest third-party logistics businesses in the UK put the impact of the recession firmly behind them.
Wincanton has invested in 80 new Euro- 6 Renaults and Mercedes-Benz as part of its drive to increase efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of its operations.
