Peterborough-based Hiltons Distribution, which is celebrating 25 years in business, has added its first ever Dafs to its 25-strong vehicle fleet in the shape of three Euro-6 CFs.
The temperature-controlled operation has taken on the trucks, featuring Spacecabs, on contract hire via Ryder to replace existing vehicles. The arrangement is currently in place with a number of its other trucks and trailers.
Founder Philip Hilton, a former farmer, said: “I diversified into transportation early on and started out with a single truck, which I drove myself. However, as the business grew I found that contract hire was the ideal solution to keep pace with the demands of an expanding business.
“I’ve outsourced from Ryder for a number of years and worked with them on the supply of the new trucks to mark our anniversary as we have strong Ryder and dealer support in the area.”
The new vehicles will be used on the operator’s contract with Bakkavar Foods, collecting product from its factories and delivering into its distribution hub in Spalding.
