Wincanton has extended and expanded its relationship with oil refining and energy firm Phillips 66 in a deal that will see it deliver in excess of one billion litres of petroleum products a year to forecourts across the Midlands and North-East of England.

The new contract will take the working relationship between both parties past the 15 year mark, and achievement that Wincanton chief executive Eric Born said the company was “very proud” of.

“The very nature of the industry in which Phillips 66 operates means safety has to be of paramount importance and we have worked hard at this aspect of the partnership, underlined by our Energy Institute Award for Safety,” he said.

The contract will see a team of 100 operational staff at Wincanton delivering fuels out out of Immingham, Kingsbury and Stockton.

Last year Suckling Transport won a five-year contract renewal with Phillips 66 to provide fuel distribution services to Jet petrol stations in the South of England.
