Hargreaves Services is tackling cycle safety head-on by giving its drivers – and the local cycle community – lessons about vulnerable road users.
The one-day Driver CPC approved course provides its truck drivers and their two-wheel counterparts an opportunity to see life from each other’s perspective in an effort to make the roads safer for everyone.
“We have had too much bad press in the haulage industry regarding cyclists,” said Mark Cockerham, Hargeaves driver trainer instructor.
“We were doing just the drivers but now we are getting in touch with cycling clubs and getting them all together. They can talk to each other and be aware of the dangers.
“If we save lives then everyone wins,” Cockerham said.
