Lubbers Transport Group (LTG) has won a £3m contract with Centrica Energy to provide transport for its exploration and production business.

The three-year contract will see Lubbers cover local road transport in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth, as well as trunking between the two sites. It features the option to extend after this period.

Chief operating officer Tony Tailford said: “This is a significant contract for LTG as an organisation and one that underlines the strength of our position in the oil and gas logistics marketplace.

"We have grown significantly as a company over the past 12 months and we are now in much stronger position to service larger oil and gas businesses such as Centrica Energy.”

A majority stake in the company was recently acquired by investment firm AAC Capital as part of a management buy-out, which saw the operator receive a £30m investment.

Lubbers, which runs a fleet of 120 trucks, also recently launched an overnight service between Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.

“We have a recognised footprint through our network of locations and routes, that matches many of the leading energy companies and this contract further emphasises this point,” Tailford added.
