Honda of the UK Manufacturing (HUM) and Yusen Logistics have renewed their contract, extending a partnership that goes back to 2006. In 2011 Yusen was appointed sole provider for HUM inbound collections, supporting the manufacture of the Civic, Jazz and CRV in Swindon. Yusen Logistics is to spend some £9m upgrading its fleet and IT systems after merging its road transport operations with its air and sea freight forwarding businesses last year. Some £7m will be spent on a combination of vehicles and mechanical handling equipment as well as trailers including pillar-less tri-axles with sliding suzies, and its Department for Transport allocation of five 15.65m trailers.
