Royal Mail staff have accepted a deal with the Communication Workers Union to increase pay, job security and stability, ending the operator’s lengthy dispute with the union. Ofcom is concerned that Royal Mail could potentially cross-subsidise its parcels operation through its letters business, as its market share and delivery network is much more established in the latter.
Ofcom has provisionally found that Royal Mail breached competition law with the price increases competitor Whistl complained to the regulator about last year.
