Scania has been ranked the most sustainable vehicle manufacturer by Corporate Knights in its annual Global 100 Index.

The truck manufacturer ranked as the 38th most sustainable company, while Daimler was at the 60th position in the list, which was revealed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this month.

Van manufacturer Nissan also made it onto the list at number 74.

The list uses 12 indicators to determine the most sustainable companies, including the amount of revenue generated per unit of energy consumed, carbon emissions, ratio of CEO salary to average worker salary, leadership diversity, and lost time injury rate.

Scania said more than 90% of its environmental impact occurs when vehicles are used, so it encourages customers to reduce emissions by using its Ecolution package.
