Temperature-controlled specialist Nagel-Langdons is investing £5.5m in a new 54,000ft² warehouse for its Scottish operation. The 10-acre site – located on the Eurocentral Business Park, near Motherwell in Lanarkshire – will include chilled and frozen chambers with all-pallet access racking for up to 1,500 pallets, with its cross-docking platform capable of handling more than 500 pallets per hours. The government has quashed hopes for a new HGV driving Trailblazer apprenticeship by rejecting the standards for a third time.
The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) is urging the industry to put forward a HGV driver apprenticeship bid under a fast-track system launched last week.
