MT Partnership Award winner Miniclipper Logistics is planning further expansion and investment after a record performance this year.
The Leighton Buzzard operator, which has customers in the chemicals, solar power, soft drink and food ingredients markets, achieved a record turnover of £9.4m in the year to 31 May, up 10% on last year (2012: £8.5m).
Pre-tax profit was £165,000 compared with £523,470, after the group invested in a 87,000ft² Hibay warehouse and a 10,000ft² extension of its offload canopy at its Clipper House site.
MD Peter Masters said: “Hibay is more than 80% full. We are delighted as it was a commercial risk that’s paid off.”
Miniclipper also achieved a personal record recently, moving more than 400 pallets on one night to Palletline.
It is also benefitting from its network’s position as consolidated carrier of choice for retailer Amazon.
“We’re servicing Amazon’s Hemel Hempstead site, running about two to three trailers a night serving smaller suppliers into its site,” said Masters.
The operator recently recruited its first business development manager, Vivian Pike who moved from DX Group, and it will install an 8,000ft² canopy to its recently converted transit shed after Christmas at Clipper House.
