Menzies Logistics Solutions has won a three year contract with WHSmith, worth £1.5m. The recently launched division of Menzies Distribution, which is branching out into high street logistics from its background in newspaper and magazines, will deliver goods to stores in the north of England. Hazardous goods supplier ASK Chemicals has awarded a five year contract to Potter Logistics, worth £500,000. The new contract will see Potter Logistics store and handle flammable substances and other hazardous goods at Potter’s Droitwich DC. Some 600 tonnes of ASK products a month will be delivered to the DC, where they will be stored in a 40,000 ft² warehouse for highly flammable liquids. After unveiling double-digit rises in turnover and profit, Turners (Soham) has continued on the upward curve by securing a new five-year contract with Omya UK, one of the country’s leading producers of calcium carbonate.
