Norbert Dentressangle has signed a three-year contract renewal with door and window manufacturer Premdor UK, extending a contract it has held since 2008.
The Barnsley-based manufacturer said that a move from 100% dedicated deliveries to a 20% shared user model had improved the flexibility of its supply chain.
“The seamless switch to an integrated mix… has provided us with an improved supply chain solution that deliveries greater overall flexibility to meet the just in time requirements of our customers,” said Paul Conway, logistics category manager (UK & CEE) at Premdor UK.
ND said that every month 23 vehicles make 5,000 deliveries on the contract, with orders collected from Barnsley and trunked overnight to depots across its radial network before being distributed to suppliers and building sites.
The operation also involves the collection and delivery of raw materials from suppliers in Yorkshire to the Barnsley site.
