Burnt-Tree-Burton-Sameday-1

Midlands courier company Burton Sameday has become one of the first customers for Burnt Tree's new refrigerated vehicle rental service Refrigerental.

Half of Sameday Burton's fleet is now temperature controlled and it has taken a new refrigerated vehicle from Burnt Tree on a two year rental deal after earlier switching some of its ambient dry freight vehicles to the leading independent truck and van rental specialist. A second identical vehicle is due to join the fleet soon.

The Mercedes-Benz 313 Sprinter is fitted with a Carrier Xarios 350 fridge system that can handle temperatures from -18C to +10C.

Burton Sameday operates 36 vehicles delivering urgent pharmaceutical supplies to patient’s homes and businesses, as well as a range of foodstuffs.  Its operations manager Rob Crisp said: "Because of the nature of our temperature controlled work, we have extremely stringent specification requirements for us to comply with the relevant legislation.

"We were impressed by the quality of the Burnt Tree vehicle specifications within their overall Refrigerental range and are now looking forward to develop this relationship."

Burnt Tree's Refrigerental Division can now provide a full selection of 63-plate, state of the art, temperature controlled rental vehicles on a national basis, ranging from car-derived vans and panel vans, right up to 18t and 26t rigid trucks, covering both single and multi-temperature applications.

“We have felt that there is a major opportunity in the current market place for Burnt Tree to expand its vehicle rental business into the temperature controlled market sector.

"The overwhelmingly positive reaction of customers since the launch has proved that we are on the right road with Refrigerental,” said Neil Murphy, Refrigerental general manager at Burnt Tree.
