A lot has happened in the two weeks since the last MT Tracker, and today the government has revealed that it will begin selling shares in post and parcel operator Royal Mail within the next few weeks, adding another transport name to the companies listed on the London Stock Exchange.

While Royal Mail’s listing has not yet begun, the government has said entry prices for members of the public will begin at £750 [to buy a basket of shares]and £500 for employees not eligible under Royal Mail’s free shares scheme.

After winning a major biomass contract with Greensphere Capital earlier this week, Stobart Group’s share price and market cap have risen considerably, reaching their highest level in MT Tracker's history. It last month reported that it was trading in-line with its four year strategy and the continued rise in share price suggests that investors are confident in the future of the business.

Wincanton is also trading at its highest since the MT Tracker began with its share price finally inching over the £1 mark. Just four months ago its share price was half of the current 102.75p today.

UK Mail, however, has seen both share price and market capitalisation take a tumble. Despite this, its share price still much higher than the price it was trading at the beginning of this year. Investors will likely be watching how it performs as it gears up for the industry’s busiest time- Christmas.
