The first two days of Multimodal have been a success, exhibitors at the NEC show told media partner Motor Transport.

Trailer manufacturer Montracon, which revealed it had become the sole agent for container handling system Swinglift, was impressed with the firm's first time presence at the exhibition.

Sales manager Neil Scott said: "It’s Montracon’s first time at Multimodal and we are pleasantly surprised at the level of enquiries we’ve received and the amount of footfall over the last two days. We’ve got quite a number of enquiries which will hopefully be successful and we can follow-up on those leads.”

Neil Rushworth, operations director at Expect Distribution, was also impressed with the level of interest it had received.

He said: "This is our second year at Multimodal and for the first year we were tucked away and tested the water. We selected a bigger stand this year and it’s worked well. We’ve had two busy mornings and we feel as though we’ve got some good quality leads from it."

Jigsaw's commercial manager Dan Mowbray was pleased that the show was attracting the visitors it had hoped for: "It’s been quite focused in terms of the right people coming to the stand and asking the right questions. As ever it’s a chance to optimise and deliver whatever it is that people are looking for.

"Overall it’s a good show and certainly something we will be doing in future."
