Construction services firm Keltbray has spent £5.5m on 32 new Scania Euro-5 tippers in a bid to improve the safety and efficiency of its fleet.
The company, which operates in and around London and also provides decommissioning services, has also entered into an agreement with Reflex for the hire of 196 commercial vehicles.
This includes Transits and 78 Volkswagon Blue Motion vehicles.
The Scania P360 rigid tippers, which have been specified with day cabs, replace 20 Hino rigid tippers.
It means Keltbray, which makes use of sub-contractors to bolster its fleet, now operates 45 LGVs.
Safety first
The company has also introduced CCTV across its entire fleet (both hire vehicles and tippers), providing drivers with live feeds from around their vehicles.
Adrian Scott, haulage operations director at Keltbray, said: “While enhancing visibility for drivers, this also improves safety for other road users, such as cyclists and pedestrians.
“It is also proving to be a valuable driver training tool and key to reducing insurance premiums and preventing unnecessary claims.”
Keltbray introduced side proximity cycle sensors to its haulage fleet in 2008.
