Bibby Distribution has won a warehousing and distribution contract with coffee company Lavazza.
The new contract, which will see the operator deliver coffee, biscuits, chocolates, crockery and promotional materials, will be run out of Bibby’s multi-user warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent.
Around 160 orders per week will be packed and delivered to Lavazza’s food service customers, including independent and chain coffee shops, bars, restaurants and caterers.
Lavazza chose Bibby as it was able to reduce order lead times from five to three days, giving it greater control over its deliveries.
Stoke-on-Trent depot manager Kevin Brennan said: “This is a prestigious customer and one where we can really add value. It involves a lot more than simply storing, picking, packing and transporting goods; presentation to the end customer is crucial.”
