Barbeque manufacturer Weber Stephen has awarded a national distribution contract to Yusen Logistics.

Yusen will run the contract out of its 319,000ft² site in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, and will deliver products to retailers including John Lewis, DIY retailers, specialist outlets and independent garden centres.

The US-based firm, which manufactures barbeques, charcoal and barbeque parts, chose Yusen as it was able to reduce delivery times for Weber in some regions, as well as improve operations.

It said it also chose it on the basis of its IT system.
