UPS has become the official logistics and shipping sponsor for Ferrari.Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will drive the Ferrari F138 bearing the UPS shield in the Formula 1 World Championship during the parcel carrier’s multi-year sponsorship. The logo will also appear on the drivers’ overalls and Ferrari's transport fleet and trackside equipment.
UPS senior vice president, communications and brand management, Christine Owens said: “We are excited to join Ferrari and be a part of their racing organisation. Expanding our involvement into Formula 1 with one of the world’s most recognisable racing teams brings together two worldwide brands.”
The US parcel giant has been involved in motorsport for over 12 years with its sponsorship of the US NASCAR series. It also sponsored the London 2012 Olympic Games.
