A quiet week for share trading in listed transport firms - but it didn't stop an upswing in the combined share-price, with a total basket worth £16.37.4p. The swing comes predominantly from a rise in the price at Hargreaves Group, which will publish annual results on 28 February.
But its profit might feel a sting after it said in in November there would be a 3% rise in pay for subcontractors - a hit of £750,000.

When it comes to total market capitalisiation there has also been a rise - also a result of confidence in Hargreaves, but a slight rise in the total market -cap at NWF Group. This was surprising, as NWF had numbers out last month which, on the face of it were not too good. Turnover at Boughey Distribution fell during the first half of its current financial year, after the loss of a customer was not offset with enough new business.
That isn't the whole story however - the key number is that NWF Group pre-tax profit rose 27% to £2.3m (2011/12: £1.8m), on a profit margin of 0.8% (up from 0.6% year-on-year). It might a 0.2%, but enough to attract a bit of sentiment?
