Furniture manufacturer Havelock Europa has extended its distribution contract with Bibby Distribution for another three years.Bibby operates the contract from Havelock’s warehouse in Dysart, Fife, since 2004. The operator delivered more than 70,000 pallets for Havelock in 2012 and expects similar volumes in 2013, delivering six days per week.

Bibby Distribution divisional director Mark Wilson said: “Knowledge of the business and understanding the idiosyncrasies that make it unique are what I believe makes our relationship with Havelock work so well. A contract renewal solidifies that and shows that we are doing our job properly and adding value.”

The contract sees Bibby handle the distribution of fragile items such as mirrors, as well as items of different shapes and sizes.

Havelock operations director Paul Doleman said: “Bibby Distribution has been able to demonstrate how different methods of delivery scheduling can impact on logistics costs; this in turn has made us more efficient, more joined-up and, ultimately, has delivered a new way of working which allows us to manage the dynamic nature of our business with greater consistency.”
