Wincanton has won a two-year warehousing and distribution contract with baby and toddler food manufacturer Ella’s Kitchen.

The contract will see Wincanton managing inbound deliveries from factories, picking, packing and distributing five million cases a year to supermarkets across the UK and its growing list of international customers.

James McMaster, chief operating officer at Ella’s Kitchen, said: “Every second of every day someone around the world eats an Ella’s Kitchen product. Ensuring that our supply chain is setup to consistently deliver the goods is very important to us.”

To reduce cost and improve efficiency, the contract will be managed from a shared user warehouse in the North West.

Both Wincanton and Ella’s Kitchen share the same commitment to reducing their impact on the environment and lowering carbon emissions.

“We‘re delighted to have been chosen to partner them as they pursue their goal of becoming a globally-recognised brand and it is testament to our track record of allowing customers to invest in growth rather than assets,” added Chris Kingshott,  MD of manufacturing at Wincanton.
