Culina signs distribution deal with Glanbia Consumer Foods

Culina has signed a deal to distribute Weightwatchers low fat spreads and chilled portfolio through its distribution centre in Stafford.

The deal with Glanbia Consumer Foods will see Culina handle the Irish food and dairy produce manufacturer’s products throughout the UK.

“A bigger presence in the UK is important to us and we recognised that branded products represented the right way to go,” says William Wake, UK country manager for Glanbia Consumer Foods.

“To be successful we needed a supply chain partner that offered a full range of services and scalability to grow with us. Culina met all of our requirements.”

Glanbia has been selling its Weightwatcher’s branded products in Asda since May, but says it needed more capacity to meet the contract that incumbent “small service providers” could not provide.
