A progress report on the Driver CPC and how well the UK is doing in meeting the September 2014 deadline to get every professional LGV driver through the 35 hours mandatory training will be made at a seminar to be held by the International Road Transport Union (IRU) in association with Motor Transport.
The UK leg of the DRIVEN series of sessions the IRU is holding in four EU countries, the seminar will be held on 4 October at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire. It will be an essential event for operators and training providers involved in Driver CPC training.
Speakers from the Driving Standards Agency, RHA, training providers and the IRU will join senior TC Beverley Bell to discuss key issues including how well the UK is meeting the original aims of the EU Driver CPC directive, what lessons could be learned from other EU countries and what improvements should be made to the scheme post 2014.
