Hermes has won a five-year contract extension with plus-size women’s clothing firm JD Williams, for handling UK and cross-border home deliveries.
The extended deal, which will run until 2017, will see the parcels firm handling more than 15 million items per year for JD Williams’ 32 brands.
Goods will be collected from DCs in Shaw, Greater Manchester and Hadfield, Derbyshire, in a fleet of 15 trailers before being transported to Hermes’ northern hub in Warrington for sorting and onward delivery to its UK depot network or onto international partners.
Ian Carr, logistics director at JD Williams, says: “We have found that Hermes’ speed of service is consistently good, and since working with them, our lost-in-transit rates have improved year-on-year and are significantly better than we experienced with previous carriers.”
