Culina has won a new distribution contract with Bute Island Foods to transport its vegan Sheese product to wholesalers and retailers across the UK.

The food firm originally ran its Sheese distribution operation from Scotland, however, it decided it would be able to reach a wider market more effectively by switching to a logistics provider with national capabilities and a stronger southern presence.

Temperature-controlled specialist Culina will manage the new contract from its Stafford hub, with stock brought into the facility by third-party hauliers picking up from Bute’s Scottish production plants.

The logistics firm will then manage warehousing and fulfilment to wholesalers and retailers via its shared user network of 10 sites.

“Culina is very good at managing the contract and working with us,” says Mark Crichton from Bute Island Foods. “They spot when patterns are out of the ordinary and it is good to know that everything is being taken care of. The service is helping us to reduce our administrative overheads.”
