Tyre maker Bridgestone has become the first commercial organisation to financially back the Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme (LCRS). The partnership agreement will enable the FTA, which manages the scheme, to develop a series of annual low carbon awards and a campaign aimed at raising awareness of the business benefits for operators who join the scheme. TfL is to step away from the day-to-day running of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (Fors) and bring in a private party on a commercial basis, in a move that suggests operators will soon face a fee to be part of the initiative.
